Appealing to Young Collectors
In this video, I am talking about getting a younger generation involved in the historic arts of antiques and collectibles.
Also, I made the decision to close the retail portion of antique and garden showcase to move forward with other adventures - including dedicating myself more to the mission of Antique & Garden Showcase and the YouTube channel it was founded upon.
Photographer / Cataloguer / Appraiser
I accepted a position in May 2023 as an extra photographer, cataloguer and appraiser for Long Auction Co. in Richmond, KY. I have trained for working with auction companies through Asheford Institute of Antiques where I also gained appraiser certification. It is a pleasure joining them to help get auctions online and ready for public viewing. Give them a visit at www.longauction.com. They use Auctioneer Pro as their platform and will have links to their upcoming auctions. In addition, they ship all across the US - using the Mail Room and other shippers. Please read terms before bidding. Then, go find a new collectible to enhance your home.

Antique and Garden Showcase Mentioned on Garden Answer
Imagine my excitement when I tuned into Garden Answer on Thursday, February 3, 2022, to find one of my planters featured on Garden Answer (at 10:30 in the video)!!! What an exciting day! And, having Antique and Garden Showcase mentioned by Laura was a delight. Let's just say that my viewership grew exponentially in less than 6 hours. For that, I am truly grateful. It is my goal to get to a weekly video upload schedule. This is a one-person venture and I work a regular job. So, at this time, I an unable to post on a daily basis... maybe someday! Nippon Porcelain Collector
My first and premiere collection was started with a mended $4 piece of Nippon in a local antique shop. Find something you love and learn as much as you can about it to start your own collection! Resources are numerous on all antiques and collectibles: books, websites, auctions, collector clubs, appraisers, antique dealers... I'm here to help and I'm striving to make this a learning oasis.
Recently Acquired
Beautiful Nippon Punchbowl on pedestal is my first acquisition of 2022. Although Nippon has no pattern names, I refer to this one as the "barnwood" background. It is flanked with clusters of grapes and hints of cobalt blue in the interior banding of the bowl and foot accents.

Beautiful Scenic Nippon Punchbowl on pedestal acquired in December 2021. I love how the scene of this bowl wraps all the way around it. It's like a pastoral oil painting on porcelain.
Nippon Porcelain Mystery Piece Revealed
I've had this piece in my personal collection for many years. It was a gift from my Aunt and late Uncle. It was so strangely made, I knew it had a purpose... but, what? I finally struck research gold and produced this video about the "mystery piece."
